1873: New location, new advantages

The company has to give way for the construction of the Prussian Assembly on Leipziger Straße. KPM's new building at the edge of the Tiergarten, costing 360,000 Taler, brings with it the invaluable advantage of a favourable geographic location on the Spree, which means that raw materials and finished products can be transported by ship, which is easier and less expensive. The new operation occupies the site of the old factory that produced the so-called health dishes.

1878: Less is more

Chemist Hermann Seger joins the company and devotes himself to new glazes. His achievements include ox-blood, celadon, crystal and smooth glazes, inspired by old Chinese ceramics.
