KPM
2004 bis 2007
2004: First attempt at privatisation

In December 2004, the first step was taken toward privatising KPM.

2006: Inauguration of the new sales gallery

Complete privatisation follows in February 2006. From then on, Berlin-based private banker Jörg Woltmann is the sole shareholder of the city's oldest craft enterprise still in production. Dr. Winfried Vogler is responsible for the company's management. On 11 November 2006, the newly designed sales gallery is opened in the historical ring-chamber furnace hall. The singular ambience of the 1,000 square-metre historical furnace hall allows visitors to experience a brilliant world of stylish table culture and a discerning way of life, which enthrals more than just admirers of "white gold".

2007: The present and the future

With its opening of the KPM gallery in Potsdam in the city centre, not far from the Brandenburg Gate, the company now has five of its own sales galleries in Germany: Wegelystraße and Unter den Linden in Berlin in addition to galleries in Hamburg and Cologne. Another KPM gallery is opened in the Hotel Kempinski am Kurfürstendamm (corner of Fasanenstraße) at the beginning of November. International expansion is also taking place: In May 2008, the first KPM gallery is unveiled in Shanghai (PR China). The cultivation of the five core markets in the U.S., Russia, Japan, China and the United Arab Emirates continues unabated. The new permanent exhibition KPM WELT is opened on 7 September at the company's complex. The 500 metre long tour allows visitors to experience KPM's magnificent tradition in Berlin, encompassing its 300 years of history, the sophisticated porcelain production process and the ornate painting and decoration. Visitors can also see how the highest quality porcelain with enduring value is still created today from natural materials. KPM WELT ranks among Berlin's cultural highlights.
