ARKADIA was created by Trude Petri in 1938 on the occasion of KPM's 175th anniversary. The design is marked by clear lines; the receptacles are cylindrical and conical. Medallions made of unglazed porcelain (biscuit porcelain) depicting the history of the paradise of Arcadia adorn the service's individual pieces. Arcadia, in the Peloponnesus in Greece, was the scene of Hellenistic and Roman pastoral literature. Demeter, Amor and Pan serve as decorative motifs for the porcelain.
